Max Clough – Seattle
Interim management executive, Max Clough, has over twenty-five years of executive leadership and consulting experience working primarily with entrepreneurial ventures and emerging businesses in a variety of industries ranging from technology to beverage to manufacturing and construction.
In his latest position as CEO of MarketOrder Corporation, the company developed one of the first Internet based, WIFI, collaborative ordering and inventory control technologies for the retail and wholesale grocery environments. This venture capital backed company rolled out technology to major retail grocery chains in the Pacific Northwest area.
Prior to his position with MarketOrder, Max served as President and CFO of Keystroke Technologies, an Internet based technology supplier to the Mortgage and Lending Industry, providing some of the first internet based rate and decision engine technology to financial institutions. Max grew the company from four to over forty employees in an eighteen-month period while raising over fourteen million in venture and strategic partner equity financing. Keystroke eventually sold to Washington Mutual.
Max was President of the Thomas Kemper Soda Company where his team was responsible for growing the company and in many respects the super premium soda category from a start-up to one of the largest super premium soda companies in the Western US. Thomas Kemper continues to demonstrate strong brand identity and sales growth following the sale to public company Pyramid Breweries. Before Thomas Kemper, Max founded CFI Incorporated, a modular building and canopy manufacturer, supplying Oil Companies and Convenience store operators throughout the greater Northwest region. Max orchestrated the sale of CFI to a larger privately held steel fabricator.
Prior to CFI Max formed Ablor Associates, an offshore oilfield service ice road maintenance company, operating in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. Max has served on the boards of a numerous corporations and non-profits as well. He has also provided management-consulting services to numerous organizations including McCaw Cellular, Egghead Software, Microsoft and Chihuly studios.
Max received his BA from The College of William and Mary and completed studies at the University of Washington Graduate School of Business – Management Program. He grew up in Richmond, Va. before heading west to Seattle, to pursue opportunities in Alaska. After spending several years in Alaska, he moved back to Seattle where he loves spending time with his family. He and his wife Laura have a difficult time keeping track of their five children with one remaining at home and the rest scattered though out the country. An avid cyclist, fisherman and runner, Max has also coached soccer, baseball, and football at a variety of levels for years.
