Jackson Weaver – Seattle

Interim Management Executive, Jackson Weaver, has always been entrepreneurial – from the development of one of the first rock music stations on the FM radio band to building a digital new media companies – he has always worked on the edge of new media and new ideas.

Developing new ideas – new solutions – and new approaches has always been his strength and passion. A languishing patent…a new TV station…convergence of traditional and new media…all opportunities to try something new.

Jackson took his early on-air experience (starting at the age of 14) and built a career doing radio and TV in multiple markets including buying and revitalizing radio station KPRQ (The Park) which became one of the successful early adult-contemporary stations; developing the co-op sales platform for NBC affiliate KUTV in Salt Lake City; leading an investment group that put TV station KZAR (Channel 16) on the air and turning around Seattle’s legendary KJR radio stations in the mid-80’s.

When the Internet exploded in tech savvy Seattle, Jackson jumped at the chance to start a city portal site for Cox Communications – Seattle Insider was one of the early efforts to utilize a local TV outlet to promote a city web site. As the boom continued he joined a team in Mountain View, CA to start a local search engine called Locality.com. Using a network marketing sales model that employed over 3,000 independent sales contractors around the country. Locality raised over $9 million in VC funding before being sold 2001.

As Web 1.0 faded, Jackson started InTown Media, LLC – developing convergence between broadcast media and the Internet. Working with TV stations around the country including both Fox affiliate KCPQ and CBS KIRO TV, InTown developed real estate software and marketing programs for hundreds of agents and brokers in Puget Sound.

As CEO of start-up eTAGZ Jackson worked to develop a strategy and a compelling sales and marketing plan to penetrate major national brands. The company developed direct-to-consumer digital marketing programs for AstraZeneca, Heely’s shoes, Rite Aid and others. Valuation of the company rose from zero to over $50MM in less than two years.

Jackson grew up in the Midwest – calling Wisconsin home but graduated from the University of Utah in Journalism and Business. With his wife Sue they live 25 miles east of Seattle in Issaquah having raised five children and NO pets. Jackson is passionate about bicycling (with Sue of course) any motorized vehicle and in particular old Corvairs – he is currently in the process of restoring a 1965 Corsa Coupe. He is an Elder in the Presbyterian church and has started a family foundation to support a village in Mexico through Agros International.
